People of Color Still Don't Matter to Many in the US

Each day with the on-going discussion about the open Supreme Court seat, people of color witness how little we matter in the grand scheme of things. It's like being the only person without a date at the prom.
Our women raped or trafficked no words, sit-ins, protest for their rights as women by other women. They'll get arrested for their cause, and still, we hear nothing when its a person of color.  Our men, killed for answering back with the wrong tone, making eye-contact, and the new one, I came in the wrong apartment tired after working overtime and took his life because that is how we handle thieves in the US. Again, no heated debate on character, being an excellent father, upstanding man who goes to church with no history wrongdoing. The woman, the cop, oops, I mean the murderer is freed on bail while folks debate of the lack of sleep defense as if color played no role in the shooting. But its a shame to question Judge Cavanagh who sat in front of the world and told "little lies" like our President does daily.
The Right and the Left have blood on their hands as they debate as if people of color don't live in the same country.
I'm 50, and this was the behavior we read about in grade school, watched black and white news real of "racial protest and civil rights movements for change." It indeed is sad how many of our white brothers and sisters only fight for us when they get nicked and bleed a little, yet stay quiet when they seem the same videos and verdicts we see.  "I feared for my life!" is the new guaranteed  GET OUT OF JAIL FREE CARD in the US when dealing with taking the life of a person of color. No one discussed the disrespect of being fearful of people of color when history proves we, people of color, should be terrified of whites in all capacities with the history shared.
Sadly, many, not all still see us as 3/5 of a person. How else do you explain the blatant blindness of pain, losses, and bloodshed of men and women of color and any allies who attempt to say different, which happens every day in these US streets?
As a counselor, author,  educator, husband, father, speaker, mentor, coach, and Man of God means nothing, when all many will see, is a large man of color, so they'll choose either a chokehold or bullets to speak to me even with camera's on (if they're working, so some claim). How little we matter. SMH

Some things to keep in mind:

- Flint still don't have clean water since Obama was in office. But it doesn't matter; those are people of color. They'll drink anything.  Obama could be there applying pressure for change, but he's not. See not everyone the same color is an ally. Movie director, Michael Moore has done more for the people of Flint than the former and current President.

- Right now there are children in cages alone, with orders were given not to hug or comfort them as they cry themselves into mental instability. Some are jailed with their parents for trying to secure a safer place to live. All because their skin is too dark. Yet the President is married to an immigrant.

- There are children of color missing from every major city, daily. No news coverage, outrage, or protest.

- Our President is an admitted sexual abuser with a staff of trained liars who spend each day saying it's not that bad and the President is doing great. So we're going to continue to ignore him saying "You Can Do What You Want To Them."

- The church, both white and black is silent in the face of pure evil and lies. But, get offended when folks don't tithe. Don't we have a Commandment about lying? Hmmm

- Finally, King Jr., X, Evers, Newton, J. Kennedy, R. Kennedy, and Jesus appeared to have died for nothing in the eyes of many in this country. We are no closer to quality race relations than there was in the late 60's and early 70's. But times are better now huh?

I've had the pleasure of working with a variety of people.
You can see the connection we've built with each other.

Joyce A. Graham said:After my daughter passed away, I had all but given up on writing ever again. Her death devastated me and I just didn’t have the motivation or the inclination to ever pen another book. When I awakened this morning, I stumbled upon a blog from Keith. I was only going to listen for a little while, intending to only get the essence of what he was trying to convey. I could not stop listening! As I continued to listen to the information he shared regarding writing, I could sense that he was authentic and transparent. He demonstrated a genuine concern for other writers in addition to a strong sense of ethical responsibility. Right away, I sensed the spirit of the Lord saying, “This is the person who I have ordained to help you.” I called him immediately. After speaking with him for a few minutes, I was convinced that he did not view his publishing company as merely a business, with nothing driving it but dollar signs, philosophy, methods, and skill; it was a MINISTRY. But because I was still struggling, I felt very vulnerable and extremely skeptical. But Keith did not relate to me from a position of authority, superiority, or pressure. He listened, encouraged, and ministered to me. I am so looking forward to working with him! More importantly, I am excited about writing again!
